We are looking for a sharp, self-starter to join the team as a Business Development Associate. This individual will support the growth of the company by identifying, pursuing and capturing new sales opportunities, with a focus on selling our contract packaging solutions and warehouse services to a diverse consumer goods market, including but not limited to beverages, food and consumer goods. The Business Development Associate feels comfortable “hunting” for new customers, maintaining and nurturing new relationships and being perseverant to capture the opportunity when the need arises. DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the execution of Premier Packaging sales strategy, which includes contacting and visiting potential customers, building and maintaining relationships, and conducting frequent touch points to capture the opportunity when the need arises.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline by “hunting” new customers and contacting prospects already identified by the organization.
• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
• Prospecting high volume cold calls through phone and/or email communication.
• Conduct in-person or virtual meetings with existing and prospective clients.
• Research customer leads.
• Coordinate sales efforts with team members and department heads.
• Conduct facility tours and offsite meetings with existing and prospective clients.
• Ensure status of all commercial efforts are properly captured on Salesforce on a timely manner.
• Provide support for negotiations and the preparation of quotes and contracts.
• Present, promote, and close new business with existing and prospective clients.
• Attend and network at tradeshows and/or other events, as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.
SKILLS + EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Undergraduate degree desired in Business or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in inside and/or outside sales.
• Experience in relevant industries strongly preferred: warehousing, logistics, supply chain, packaging.
• Ability to build productive professional relationships.
• Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
• Resilient and perseverant personality to “hunt” customers and pursue business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
• Capacity to drive to visit current and prospective customers.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
