Position Summary
The Chief Philanthropy Officer oversees a department of four (Volunteer Engagement Officer, Community Relations Officer, Donor Relations Officer, and Database Administrator) plus additional department vendors for grants and special events. With a focus on individual giving (major and planned) and community engagement, the philanthropy department leads the organization's focus on relationship building, awareness raising and engagement. YWCA's total private fundraising budget is $1,500,000 and growing, with a target of increasing the budget by $1,000,000 over the next five years. The Chief Philanthropy Officer will commit 50% of their time to managing a personal portfolio of donors and secure major annual gifts across all areas of giving, including special events, annual giving, planned giving, endowment, and capital campaign(s). The Clark County Community is an active participant in supporting YWCA. Our Chief Philanthropy Officer needs to connect with Clark County and understand the value of uplifting our participants and their successes.
Essential Duties

Related experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in philanthropic fundraising, preferably in a non-profit setting and 3-5 years' experience in developing effective strategic plans and accurate budgets.
Ability to earn: proven track record of setting and meeting progressively higher fundraising goals, securing four, five, and six-figure gifts, and utilizing the moves management process.
Ability to influence: build buzz, excitement, and drive attendance to critical fundraising events using strong and persuasive written and verbal communication, preferably for a non-profit organization
Ability to work strategically: handle multiple moving priorities with follow-through and demonstrate unwavering integrity and accountability
Ability to persevere: creativity when needed to find the right approach, ability to test and discover new strategies and techniques.
Strong project management skills: maintain a strategic focus while managing multiple projects, deadlines, goals, and needs.
Strong technological skills: effectively use various programs to track, communicate, and capitalize on past fundraising successes in a manner that minimizes event plateaus. Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, database management and CRM systems (preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge) essential for success.
Demonstrated supervisory experience: at least two years of experience managing a staff with unique responsibilities and varying communication and work style preferences. Preferred leadership styles include transformational, coaching, and visionary approaches that inspire and develop team members while fostering innovation and growth.
