Civil Project Engineer (Full-Time, In-Office)
Location: Madison, AL
ASM Engineering Consultants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time, in-office basis. The role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled civil engineer to contribute to a variety of civil and rail projects, collaborating with both internal team members and external stakeholders, including clients and contractors.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support civil engineering projects through all phases, from understanding the client's needs and processes through development concepts to shovel ready construction documents.
Prepare and develop design documentation, including site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, storm-water management plans, and related engineering drawings.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met efficiently.
Prepare reports, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and project quality.
Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals by working closely with regulatory agencies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
5+ years of civil engineering experience, with a strong background in site development, utilities, and infrastructure design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar design software.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, industry codes, and permitting processes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Benefits
ASM Engineering offers an experience-based, competitive salary with benefits including 401 K matching, health insurance, dental insurance, PTO and paid holidays. Starting Salary is between $110,000-$140,000 based on experience.
