Job Title: Main Frame Architect

The Mainframe Modernization Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to modernize legacy mainframe systems. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies, cloud computing, and modern software development practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading mainframe modernization projects and possess strong technical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess existing mainframe environments and identify opportunities for modernization.
• Develop comprehensive modernization strategies and roadmaps.
• Design and architect solutions to migrate mainframe applications to microservices architecture.
• Collaborate closely with the Mainframe Center of Excellence (COE) team to understand the current ecosystem and draw a blueprint for the future.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the modernization process.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and best practices for mainframe modernization.
• Ensure that modernization efforts align with business goals and objectives.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of modernized systems.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to mainframe modernization.
• Utilize Generative AI skills to enhance modernization strategies and solutions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe technologies and modernization projects.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe systems, including COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and migration strategies.
• Proficiency in modern software development practices, such as DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Good working knowledge of legacy modernization and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Generative AI skills are a bonus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are a plus.
