The role of a Building Mechanical Engineer is to engage in all phases of a project from programming to construction document development to construction administration and commissioning. This role is essential for developing technical abilities within the group. The Mechanical Engineer represents the team’s technical services both internally and externally to clients. The Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for coordinating with the Mechanical Lead related to projects, training, and quality control. The mechanical engineer aims to consistently lead and support Salas O’Brien’s Core Values and Policies.

Your main role will be designing and laying out HVAC systems for multiple facility types and requirements. Your role will also include developing and sustaining relationships with in-house teams and contractors while providing technical solutions through design and consulting services that address the facility manager and/or owner’s requirements. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, capable of working with a team or in a self-directed manner, and must be familiar with the full engineering cycle including, but not limited to the following:
Required Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering required
A minimum of 3 years, 5+ years preferred, of relevant experience in HVAC design and layout. A working knowledge of Plumbing, and/or Fire Protection, and general building mechanical engineering is preferred as well.
A professional engineering license in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or at a minimum the ability to obtain a professional engineering license within 2 years. LEED or CEM accreditation and/or green building design experience is a plus.
