Job Summary
We are looking for a Phlebotomist that commutes to Orange County and Los Angeles County part-time.
Must be flexible and adaptable to a changing schedule
Required- open availability during these hours:
Monday & Thursday ONLY 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM

The activities which may be performed are:
Specimen collection of COVID-19, including patient preparation, labeling, and handling preservation or fixation.
Essential Job Functions
Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with the station log, bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel.
Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
Obtains COVID-19 specimens by performing swabs.
Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, observing isolation procedures.
Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.
Maintains quality results by following department procedures and testing schedule; recording results in the quality-control log; identifying and reporting needed changes.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the physician, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying supervisor of unresolved orders.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
Enhances phlebotomy department and reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Identifies and pursues self-improvement needs.
Seeks coaching/mentoring when appropriate.
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, HIPPA, State, COLA and CLIA.
Participates in required orientation, Compliance, Safety, and HIPAA training programs.
Reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to our laboratory management.
Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.
Participates, as requested, in process improvement responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED, as determined under CLIA.
At least 2-years in the medical field.
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Must have a clean driving record with no moving violations.
