Job Description

The Specialty Scheduling Coordinator schedules office and hospital services for patients including scheduling appointments with external providers or ancillary departments to ensure coordinated care for patients.

MAJOR CHALLENGES:

  • Balancing a complex daily workload while providing superior customer service.

  • Keeping current with frequently changing policies, medical insurance and authorization requirements.

  • Prioritize multiple conflicting priorities within deadlines.

  • Continuously integrating software upgrades/system changes into workflows and procedures.

Patient Population Served: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years - Working experience in a medical clinic, office setting or administrative setting.

  • Extensive and excellent customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Epic or other EMR.

  • Specialty clinic experience.
