College/Department Information Georgia Cancer Center The Georgia Cancer Center is on a mission for providing industry-leading cancer research and care that benefits patients locally and globally. Job Summary General lab manage; Mouse breeding; General research work including molecular biology and cell culture
Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to:
General lab management - 30% Make inventory of lab supply
Order research supply
Stock lab supply in cell culture room and lab space.
Cleaning and autoclave
Mouse breeding - 30% Set up mouse breeding cages, wean, make inventory of breeding mice
Mouse genotype
Mouse transfer to the researcher
General lab research work - 40% Perform general molecular biology experiments including PCR, cloning, western blot, immunohistochemistry, etc
Cell culture, transfection
Plasmid preparation, lentiviral vector production, etc
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.
OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality
Detail-oriented
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Grade R9
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
